It was an excellent autumn and winter for the bigger fungi, but this post takes a random look at some of the sub-10 mm ones I’ve seen on Puangiangi. They have largely escaped my notice until now, but this small world is fascinating:

Thank you. The orange pore fungus was on a log small enough to carry into the shed, where I set it up next to the window with the low winter sun shining through from the back. There are some good YouTube videos describing lighting for fungi and other forest floor things- complicated but I will give the ideas a try one day.
